How to Hide Dates or Number Wanted on a Sign Up

A sign up that runs for months can get long fast, and nobody wants to scroll through last month's filled shifts to find this week's open one. Premium subscribers can automatically hide past or future dates, so participants only see what's current.

This works well for a lot of situations:

• Work shift or vacation schedules that run all year
• School lunchroom or media center sign ups
• Quarterly nonprofit or church volunteer schedules
• Full theater season where you only want the current show visible
• Open mic night slots where you'd rather not let performers book out the whole month at once

How to Hide Past or Future Dates

• Log in to your account and go to your Created sign ups.
• Click the ellipsis icon (•••) next to the sign up and select Edit.
• On the Settings tab, scroll down to the Preferences heading.
• Click the Restrictions tab.
• Click the + symbol next to Hide Past/Future Dates.
• Choose whether to hide past dates, future dates, or both, and set your parameters.
• Click Save

How to Hide the Number Wanted on a Slot

Every slot has a number wanted, which is the most people who can sign up for it. Most of the time, participants see that number next to how many people have signed up. Hide Number Wanted keeps the limit out of view. Participants see a running count of how many people have signed up so far. When the slot reaches your number, it stops taking sign ups, just like it normally would.

This helps when the full number works against you. A field day sign up that needs 40 volunteers can look empty early on when it shows 4 of 40. With the number hidden, people see a group that's already forming. It also helps when you'd rather not post a limit, like a workshop that fits 25 or a training with limited seats.

1. Log in to your account and go to your Created sign ups.
2. Click the ellipsis icon (•••) next to the sign up and select Edit.
3. Click the Slots tab.
4. Find the slot you want to change and click the pencil icon.
5. Under the Title and Help Comment fields, enter the number wanted.
6. Check the box directly below it to hide that number.
7. Click Save.

Hide Number Wanted is included on Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Enterprise plans. It isn't available on the Free plan.

No. Participants see a running count of how many people have signed up, but not the total you're asking for. The limit still works in the background. When the slot reaches your number, it stops taking sign ups, the same as a slot with the number showing.

Can I hide the number wanted on a free SignUpGenius account?
